The philosophy of the Mega Mendung batik is that every human being should strive to stay calm and composed, to quell anger under any circumstances. This motif used to be one of the forbidden motif, reserved for the king.
"Mega Mendung" can be translated as overcast clouds. 🌿 This particular Batik Tulis has "Mega Mendung" motif, and "Parang" motif that was once a forbidden motif reserved only for the Sultan and a few select people within the inner circle of the Royal Court And can also be used for table cloth, blanket/throw, bedding, upholstery and sewn into shirt, tie, robe, quilt or anything your heart desire. It can be transformed into dresses, skirts, wrap, sarong without sewing. It usually is preferable for most people because of its versatility. It is not sewn into tubular sarong, instead in the form of fabric. 🌿 Approximate size 40 inches x 95 inches.

In the past, “batik tulis” was mostly reserved for the royal families and the nobility, but the beauty of hand drawn batik or batik tulis can now more easily enjoyed by everyone. Batik is very versatile, although mainly used for clothing and sarong, it can be used for tapestry, table cloth and bedding as well.
